Fairfax, VA – 7 March 2018 – Sevatec agility expert Josh Seckel will speak at the Business Agility 2018 Conference being held March 14 ̶ 16 in New York. As a leading expert and trail blazer of Agile practices, Seckel will share insights from his extensive experience empowering people at all levels, and bringing transformational change to a wide variety of organizations, from small startups to large government agencies. His presentation, “Contracting in the Federal Government” can be heard Thursday afternoon, March 15.
The conference, hosted by the Business Agility Institute, will focus on organizational design, market disruption and product innovation, Agile outside of IT and next-gen leadership. Seckel will share “art of the possible” stories at the interactive and collaborative conference, showcasing the expansion of agility beyond IT into government acquisition and procurement, in which he has been a driving force.
“While Agile development has seen increasing acceptance across the federal government, the full potential impact is limited, unless the principles are applied to additional disciplines,” said Seckel. “We need Agile acquisition, not just acquisition for Agile. Progressive IT and acquisition leaders are remaking government processes, developing their own contract vehicles, changing the evaluation of proposals, and decreasing time spent on acquisition instead of value delivery. The movement continues to scale-up, and early adopters to the new evaluation criteria, like Sevatec, are realizing tremendous competitive advantages.”
Seckel, Chief Solutions Architect for Agile and DevOps for Sevatec, drives the adoption of business, technical, and management agility both through Sevatec’s internal organization and at client sites. His career in implementing and executing Agile transformation includes small start-up private sector companies as well as government agencies including U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and specific programs within the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security.
